Native Glass and a Faster Feel

August 17, 2026·1 min readMobilePerformance
Native Glass and a Faster Feel

Native glass on mobile

Mobile's controls — headers, menus, and the input field you type into — now render and behave like real native glass instead of an approximation of it. It is the kind of change that is hard to screenshot and easy to feel: the app reads as part of the OS rather than a web view in a costume.

A faster feel

The conversation list on mobile loads faster now, with lazy titles and a virtualized recents list, so a long history stops costing you at startup. Desktop web picks up the sync progress indicator the mobile sidebar already had — you can watch your memory sync working instead of wondering whether it is.

One less mode

Temporary chat is retired on the web app. Every conversation saves now, and the chat header is simpler without the toggle. If something should not stay remembered, you can still delete it from your memories afterward — one model of how saving works, instead of two.

Cleanup pass

Message edits now resolve against your full conversation history instead of only what was loaded on screen. Web push no longer asks for notification permission the moment the page loads, and its subscription endpoint works again. On mobile, the sidebar drawer stays open until the page you tapped finishes loading. The reduced-transparency accessibility setting and the confirm dialog's surface both apply correctly at desktop sizes now, and a moderation false-positive that could silently block a memory from saving is fixed.
